Biography

Courtney Mohammadi’s practice focuses on representing individuals who have been injured in wrongful death, catastrophic personal injury, and product liability cases, particularly medical devices and dangerous drugs. Courtney also represents plaintiffs in class action cases and Relators in qui tam litigations. Currently, Courtney serves on the discovery, data analytics, and investigation committees in the In Re Zantac (Ranitidine) multi-district litigation pending in the Southern District of Florida. She is also heavily involved in the state and federal litigations against medical device manufacturer, Exactech.

Prior to joining Pope McGlamry in June 2016, Courtney worked at Colson Hicks Eidson, a Plaintiff’s firm in Coral Gables, Florida for six years where she represented clients in personal injury, medical negligence, products liability, premises liability, and commercial litigation. Courtney has successfully litigated and tried several cases throughout Florida, including a $4.5 million jury verdict for a hotel developer in a commercial matter where she was second-chair. Most notably, in her first trial as first-chair, Courtney secured an $11.4 million jury verdict for her clients who were catastrophically injured as a result of the defendant driver’s drag racing.

Courtney graduated cum laude from Elon University in North Carolina before she earned a Juris Doctorate from Florida International University College of Law. While in law school, Courtney served as an Articles Editor for the Florida International University Law Review, and interned for the Honorable John J. O’Sullivan, Federal Magistrate, United States District Court, Southern District of Florida.

Courtney served on the Board of Directors for the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (FAWL) for three years, and is on the National Parkinson Foundation Moving Day Committee. Courtney is a member of the American Association for Justice, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and Women En Mass.

Courtney was appointed by the Court to serve in In Re: Exactech Polyethylene Orthopedic Products Liability Litigation, MDL 3044 to serve on the Discovery Subcommittee. Courtney also served on the discovery, data analytics, and investigation committees in the In Re Zantac (Ranitidine) MDL pending in the Southern District of Florida.
