On December 7, 2011, Pope McGlamry had the pleasure of hosting a cocktail reception for several former NFL players at the Palm in Atlanta, Georgia. Our reception was an opportunity to educate former NFL players about claims that are being made against the NFL for concussion-related injuries, and to let them know that Pope McGlamry was pursuing claims on behalf of former NFL players that have sustained concussion-related injuries. The reception was well attended. Over 40 former NFL players came to learn more about the NFL’s liability for head injuries, and to ask questions about the potential for mass tort litigation.
Although the players in attendance are retired from the NFL, they remain an important part of our community. They are business owners, philanthropists, and role models. Unfortunately, many of these players have sustained serious head injuries that could have and should have been avoided. Head injuries, like concussions, don’t just affect a player. Often, the player’s spouse, children and other family and friends must cope with the injury to their loved one.
During the reception at the Palm, the lawyers at Pope McGlamry made it clear that we will not sit on the sidelines while former NFL players suffering from concussion-related injuries need our help. Concussions and other head injuries can have a long term effect on one’s health and well-being. If you or a loved one has suffered concussions or other head injuries while playing in the NFL, contact the lawyers at Pope McGlamry today.
