Kirkland Pope has been appointed as Co-Lead Counsel for the Plaintiffs in In Re: Profemur Hip Implant Products Liability Litigation Multi-District Litigation (MDL) No. 2949, by the Honorable Katherine G. Baker.  Kirk will serve alongside George E. McLaughlin (Warshauer McLaughlin Law Group) in this MDL. Pope McGlamry attorneys M.J. Blakely and Josh Karr will be assisting Kirk on these cases. 

On September 23rd MicroPort Orthopedics Inc. announced a Class 1 Device Recall on the PROFEMUR Neck Long and Extra Long Titanium. The recall stated that the PROFEMUR Titanium modular neck has been reported to fracture after implantation in certain cases. This recall is in addition to MicroPort’s Class 1 Recall of the Profemur Cobalt and Chromium Long A/R modular necks due to corrosion and fracture. Pope McGlamry and McLaughlin Law Firm are leading the state coordinated litigation involving Profemur hip implant failures in front of Judge Robert Weiss in the Circuit Court of Shelby County, Tennessee.
