Class Action Filed Against BP on Behalf of Georgia Residents

Pope McGlamry, a prominent Georgia law firm specializing in civil litigation, and the Atlanta law firm of Taylor English have filed a class action in federal court in the Northern District of Georgia to recover loss of income, property value, and enjoyment of Georgians who…
own property along the Gulf Coast which has been affected by the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill. It is the first lawsuit filed on behalf of Georgians related to the spill.
The class action names BP, Transocean Offshore Deepwater Drilling, Haliburton Energy Services, and Cameron International Corp. as defendants. Pope McGlamry believes that the recovery in this class action should come from a source independent of the $20 billion fund set up by BP to provide those immediately affected by the spill.
