Pope, McGlamry, Kilpatrick, Morrison & Norwood, LLP, is a partnership of Georgia attorneys whose roots are firmly planted in Georgia and Alabama but whose expertise in litigation has achieved national recognition.

The firm was started by C. Neal Pope, senior partner, who began his practice in Alabama over forty years ago. In 1985, the firm became Pope, McGlamry when Neal brought together experienced lawyers from various areas of practice to create a group that specialized in civil and commercial litigation. The concept with that formation was to focus experienced legal talent on a small number of complex cases that primarily, but not exclusively, represented plaintiffs.

Today, Pope, McGlamry is a recognized leader in the field of litigation, specializing in: wrongful death cases; serious personal injury cases, such as those related to products liability or motor carrier liability; business litigation; and class actions, especially those related to consumer issues. The firm has offices in Atlanta and Columbus, Georgia, and maintains a regional and national practice.

Collectively, the attorneys of Pope, McGlamry bring over 225 years of experience to the practice. Many in the group are members of the bar in more than one state, including Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and Washington, D.C. All hold memberships in trial lawyer organizations, both nationally and in the states in which they are admitted, as well as membership in the American Inns of Court.

Furthermore, the firm counts among its partners such notable levels of distinction as: a Law Clerk for a State Supreme Court Justice, two Fellows in the American College of Trial Lawyers, a former treasurer of the American Bar Association, a former president of the State Bar of Georgia, a former law clerk to both Federal Trial and Appellate Judges, and a president of the local chapter of the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers.

Members of the firm have also been recognized by Atlanta Magazine as "Super Lawyers" and by the publication Best Lawyers in America, both in Alabama and in Georgia.

Although the demands of the practice are significant, the firm believes strongly in involvement in charitable, civic, and community activities. Members of the firm are active in historic preservation and community revitalization issues, environmental organizations, various church and religious groups, and organizations that impact upon the lives of neglected and abused children.

One of the hallmarks of the firm is its conviction that lawyers are members of a profession and, as such, have an obligation to their clients, to the legal profession, to the legal system, and to their respective communities. For example, the firm took an active role in securing unclaimed funds from multiple class actions, then collaborated with opposing counsel, and advised the court in its distribution of those funds to over 100 charitable entities. Such activities demonstrate the sense of responsibility that is an inherent part of the legal practice, and the culture, of the Pope, McGlamry firm.
