DePuy Pinnacle Recall

The Pinnacle hip was taken off the market in 2013 when the FDA tightened regulations.

The DePuy Pinnacle Hip System has been known to fail after only 5 years, coming up short to the industry standard hip devices that usually last over 20 years.

As new developments occur, we will update our DePuy Pinnacle News section & communicate directly with our clients.

Pinnacle Hip Failure Symptoms

The Pinnacle system uses a metal-on-metal construction, with a metal ball inserted into a metal socket. This can shed metal particles into the surrounding tissue and bloodstream, resulting blood poisoning, tissue damage, inflammation and infection. The implant can also cause bone erosion, or even separate from the bone entirely.

What Steps Do I Need To Take?

If you have a DePuy Pinnacle hip replacement system and are suffering from pain in the groin, hip or leg area, swelling and inflammation or limping or any other issues, take the following steps.

  • See your doctor immediately.
  • Do not release any of your confidential medical information to any DePuy representatives before speaking to experienced hip replacement counsel.
  • If you are told that you will need hip revision surgery, make sure that the removed component parts are preserved. Your counsel should be familiar with this process and working with the proper experts to insure that it is done correctly.
  • Take legal action by contacting our qualified team. We’ll evaluate your case at no cost to you.
