Paul Kilpatrick of Pope McGlamry Celebrates 50 Years

Kilpatrick celebrates 50 years of practicing law

attorneys-paul-kilpatrickColumbus, GA.  (December 29, 2014) —  Pope McGlamry, a Georgia based law firm,  is pleased to announce that Managing Partner, Paul Kilpatrick, is celebrating his milestone 50th anniversary practicing law.

Kilpatrick helped form Pope McGlamry in 1984 and has handled hundreds of cases in various areas of litigation throughout the years. During Kilpatrick’s decades of practice he has spent fifteen years focusing on Family Law and another thirty-five in the area of Plaintiff and Business litigation.

Kilpatrick graduated from the University of Georgia with an A.B in 1963 and a J.D in 1965.  He is a past President of the State Bar of Georgia and is a member of several associations including the Columbus Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the Alabama Association for Justice, and the American Board of Trial Advocates.   He also served as a Bar Examiner for the State Bar of Georgia.

In addition to his professional achievements, Kilpatrick also has a deep philanthropic side and is an active member of the St. Luke Methodist Church, where he serves on the finance committee, teaches Sunday school, and serves as a member of the Board of Trustees.

He was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1964 and has provided legal services to the Columbus community for half a century and according to top management he has no plans to slow down. Prior to Kilpatrick’s legal career he served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, from 1965-1968, leaving with the rank of Capt. JAG.

“I love the practice of law and have had the opportunity to work with and against many great lawyers,” says Kilpatrick. “I always believed that a profession includes the responsibility to give back to the profession and to the public, especially those in need.”
