Lasseter Elected to American Counsel Association’s Board of Directors

COLUMBUS, GEORGIA – Col. Earle F. Lasseter, USA (retired), a partner and trial lawyer at Pope, McGlamry, Kilpatrick, Morrison & Norwood, P.C., a prominent Georgia law firm specializing in civil litigation, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the American Counsel Association (“ACA”).  The ACA is America’s oldest association of independent law firms.  For 80 years, it has supported scholarship, professionalism and camaraderie among its members.  The ACA’s purpose is to establish and maintain an organization of lawyers experienced in the practice of law and united in fellowship and effort, thereby to improve and enhance standards of practice, the administration of justice and the discharge of the responsibilities of the profession and to encourage and assist law students in preparing, qualifying and establishing themselves in the practice of law.  The American Counsel Association is also dedicated to providing scholarship assistance to third year law students who are academically gifted and in need of financial assistance.

In addition to his work with the American Counsel Association, Mr. Lasseter has served the American Bar Association as both its Treasurer and General Practice Section Chairman.  Mr. Lasseter also presided as Judge Advocate General for the Military Order of the World Wars (“MOWW”).    He has also served on the ABA’s Board of Governors and for 16 years as a member of its House of Delegates.
